Only a fraction of harvested crops is used for human consumption. Even if all the people in the entire planet gets rid of fossil-fueled vehicles in favor of Tesla cars, we'll run out precious forests, simple math.
They are trying to do business while they can... no matter the crappy left overs they'll leave to their descendants.
