In my opinion, it's false cryptocurrencies' value is zero, though they certainly don't nearly have the exorbitant value scalpers and gamblers provoke, they have at least a minimum value because they're secured, portable and descentralized (which is appreciated).
I think the value of most of them will eventually fall and a few would survive as a feasible option if:
1) widely adopted
2) and, of course, the maximum of currencies mined is reached. Otherwise their value would drop too.
It's in our convenience that at least one cryptocurrency thrives at a reasonable price because of the even worse value-issues fiat currencies represent, it could save several governments from a massive headache.
Mining cryptocurrencies do not fix any real problem and is a waste, they should be created in a different more useful way.
