Materialism is not our only problem

We can see less devastating threats in tribes that do not belong to Capitalist societies, so we could think that by stopping materialism we would have happier societies with low levels of crime.

Though materialism is destroying physically our planet and morally our societies, stopping being materialists would just prevent the first of these two issues. If we don't feel satisfied with whom we are, without the need to compare with the others and feel superior, there will always exist the conflict, the impulse to affect the other or at least the negative energy provoked by the wish of someone to fail, by the necessity to gain some superficial relevance; which in other words may be said as the superficial irrelevance of the others.

Attempting to ignore someone, not caring of his/her welfare is wishing her/his to stop existing. In humans (at least) this generates resentment. Resentment is a powerful motivation for criminals, besides the benefit they are pursuing over their victims.

Changing from a materialist way of life to a non-materialist of life would not guarantee better citizens, feeling love is a must (love-courage-intelligence).
